The Styrian Ennstal – home to a diverse cheese culture

In terms of landscape and cuisine, Styria is one of the most exciting and varied areas in Austria. With its unique scenic beauty and small-scale agriculture it characterises the Ennstal and makes it home to a diverse cheese culture. Most of the Austrian blue and green veined cheeses are produced here, as are the soft cheese specialties Camembert, red cultured and wine cheese.

“In the Ennstal, we refine the best alpine milk into Austria’s most popular soft cheese specialties.“

Master cheese maker Marvin Planitzer

About the manufacture

For the production of the Ennstaler soft cheese specialties, we only use GM-free  alpine milk from our 700 or so dairy farmers. At our two Ennstal Milch KG locations, around 250 employees refine this valuable milk into Austria’s most popular soft cheese specialties. We are not only Austria’s largest soft cheese manufacturer, but have also received numerous Austrian and international awards.
